Freedom of Information & Data Protection

Freedom of Information

In the interests of greater openness and accountability across the public sector, the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 2000 requires the Institution proactively to make information publicly available.

Under Section 19 of the FOIA, each public authority must produce a publication scheme.
Leeds Conservatoire has adopted the generic model publication scheme developed for public authorities and is committed to publishing the information described in the Information Commissioner’s definition document for Higher Education institutions.
This publication scheme sets out the categories of information already published, or to be published in the future, and how this may be accessed. This is not a list of the actual publications, as this will change as new material is published or existing material revised. It is, however, the Institution's commitment to make available the information described.
The conservatoire may make a reasonable charge for information which is not available on its website. If information is required in hard copy, depending on the size and complexity of the request, a charge may be levied for this.
The conservatoire is obliged to respond in writing within 20 working days to Freedom of Information requests from any individual. You can expect us in our response to state whether we hold information of the type requested and, if so – and subject to certain exemptions (including Data Protection principles) – communicate it to you.
Requests for information to be supplied under the Freedom of Information Act may be made by contacting or by writing to:
Head of Policy and Planning
Leeds Conservatoire
3 Quarry Hill
Requests for information about the Luminate Education Group should be addressed to Luminate Education Group using these details.
General information on the Freedom of Information Act and the model publication scheme can be accessed on the Information Commissioner's website at
