Tasha Dowd, soon-to-graduate from Leeds Conservatoire’s Actor Musician course, is set to make their professional debut in Vernons Girls at Liverpool’s Royal Court running from 9 June to 8 July.

Vernons Girls tells the story about ordinary working-class women who had their lives turned upside down and were thrown into the glamourous world of rock ‘n’ roll.
In Liverpool in the 1950s more than 6,000 women are working in Vernons, checking the pools coupons and enjoying singing in the choir. In 1956, rock ‘n’ roll explodes in Liverpool and the world changes. Suddenly these ordinary young scouse girls are performing for audiences in their hundreds and thousands all around the country and in the new and exciting world of TV.

The show celebrates the sheer joy of being a teenager at such an exciting time and includes hits from the likes of Billy Fury, Eddie Cochran, Jerry Lee Lewis, Marty Wilde, Cliff Richard and Buddy Holly.
Liverpool-born Tasha enthused on Twitter, “I’ll be back home and doing what I do best! Bring on the Vernons Girls.”
In addition to this opportunity, Tasha has recently signed to Infinity Artists whose clients are based throughout the UK and Europe and work across a range of industries, nationally and internationally, from film and TV to theatre and radio.
