  • Work Experience Opportunity for a Brass player at Leeds Junior Conservatoire  - May to 9th July 2022

Leeds Junior Conservatoire have a work experience vacancy for a second or third year student who is interested in learning about teaching beginner brass players (tuba, trombone, and french horn), and running beginner ensembles with a range of instruments. You will be shadowing one of our experienced tutors and have the opportunity to learn about strategies for teaching group lessons, working with mixed ability students, and gain an insight into the skills needed to work as an instrumental music teacher. 

The placement is during the Summer Term on Saturdays between 9:00 and 1:30 from 14 May 14 to 9 July. If you are interested in applying please contact

JMI is the world’s largest youth-music non-profit organisation with members in over 70 countries worldwide. To manage and run all these activities and projects, every year, JMI offers exciting internships within its many different programs and departments. The second annual Petrichor International Music Competition is now open for submissions. This annual musical performance and composition contest provides support, inspiration, and exposure to composers, instrumentalists, singers, ensembles, and orchestras from around the world. Become A Mentor

This year we’re piloting a new programme to support our students from disadvantaged and under-represented backgrounds and we need graduates to help.

We’re on the look out for graduates who have some shared experiences with these students to act as coaches and give them some support.

Coaches will be paid for their time.
