
Leeds Conservatoire collaborate with a variety of festivals across the UK to create work experience and performance opportunities for our current students and alumni.
The Employability & Enterprise team work closely with festival organisers to deliver tailored packages specific to student requirements, whether that be as performers or staff members.
The following festival opportunities are currently open for artists and bands from Leeds Conservatoire:
- Underneath the Stars, South Yorkshire (4-6 August 2023) - one performance slot
- We Out Here Festival, Dorset (10-14 August 2023) - 4 performance slots

The following paid work placement opportunties are currently available to students from Leeds Conservatoire. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work alongside highly trained events staff and be provided with an opportunity to learn on the job.
Opportunities as follows:
- Long Division, Wakefield (9-11 June 2023):
- Stage Manager x 2, each at one of 12 event spaces at Long Division Festival in Wakefield City Centre.
- Welcome and assist artists in backstage areas and work closely with venues and sound technicians to ensure smooth and timely running of the event.
- Be part of the wider events team and be managed / supported by Long Division's Festival Event Manager.
- Exact hours to be confirmed, some flexibility is possible when allocating applicants to stages
- Underneath the Stars, South Yorkshire (4-6 August 2023 - required onsite 2-7 August)
- 3 stage management roles
- 2 backstage roles
- 2 event management roles
- We would particularly welcome applications from women and marginalised genders
- We Out Here Festival, Dorset (festival dates 10-14 August 2023 - required onsite 9-14 August)
- 8 stage management / artist liaison roles
- Each applicant will be required to work 40-45 hour over the course of the festival
- Transport, camping, a ticket to the festival, food and drink will be provided.
- Payment is a £110 day rate for 10 hours

Other information:
- Unless otherwise stated above, all work placements will be paid at the national living wage (£10.18 per hour / £10.42 if over 22).
- Availability: Applicants must be available for the full duration of the festival and be willing to work unsociable hours.
- Current third year students, postgraduate students and Class of 2022 graduates are eligible to apply.

Previous experiences include, sending 25 Leeds Conservatoire DJs to Leeds Festival, to curate and perform at the campsite stages over the bank holiday weekend. We've curated showcase stages at The Alternative Great Escape and Liverpool Sound City and organised performers, curators and staff for festivals such as Long Division and We Out Here.
