Victoria Gimby

Victoria is an award winning writer, director and dramaturg, trained at both RADA / Birkbeck University (MA) and Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts (BA).  She is currently Associate Director for the upcoming Sister Act UK Tour and London run with Whoopi Goldberg, and the UK tour of Rock of Ages. Victoria was shortlisted for the Northern Writers’ Awards 2018.  Victoria also produces the yearly Off West End awards ceremony and has worked as a reader for various theatres including The National Theatre and the Finborough. Alongside her work at Leeds Conservatoire developing the MA programmes, Victoria directs and tutors at Urdang Theatre Academy,  guest lectures on the MA course at RADA and teaches Actor and text at Associated Studios.

Her credits as a Director include Three Little Pigs by Stiles and Drew (Dorking Halls), Bard from the Barn (Barn Theatre), Peter Pan (Chelmsford Civic Theatre), In the Heights (The Bridewell Theatre), Chicago (The Bridewell Theatre), Call me Vicky (The Pleasance), The Cereal Cafe (The Other Palace) News Revue (The Canal Cafe Theatre),  Jam Jars (The Actors Centre), Luck of the Draw (RADA Festival), Variety shows for Hapag Lloyd Cruises, UKIP!The Musical (Movement Director, winner of THE STAGE award for Ensemble Excellence, Waterloo East, Ed Festival), The Ballad of Paragon Station (International Tour incl Gilded Balloon, Hull Truck Theatre, Lyttelton Arts Festival in New Zealand), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (St Leonards-on-Sea Festival), and Butter (Winner of Outstanding New Work Award at The Vaults).

Victoria also is heavily involved in the creation and development of new musical theatre. As a playwright she has written Zelda (Musical Workshop, The Other Palace), Rosa (Musical Workshop), By Virtue Fall (Winner of LOST Theatre One Act Festival - The LOST Theatre/The Space Theatre), Pieces of Eight (RADA Festival/Stanley Halls Invention Festival), Forget me not (The Vaults, Waterloo), A Little bit of Dickens (Hertford Theatre/Jamie Oliver’s Feastival/ Edinburgh Fringe), A Little Bit of Rodgers and Hammerstein (Hertford Theatre), Alba Ur (RADA).
