Supporting Teachers and Advisers

Useful information for teachers and advisers to find school resources and advice to help their students.

Discounted tickets for School Groups

We are pleased to offer discounted tickets for school groups to attend concerts staged by us. Groups of 10-19 students will receive a 10% discount and groups of 20 or more will receive a 20% discount. Teacher tickets are free. We would ask for a confirmation on schools headed paper or from a school email address in order to offer the discount.

We also host concerts presented by external promoters and discounts for these are offered at the promoter’s discretion. Whilst we could not guarantee a discount, we are more than happy to enquire on your behalf. For our full concert schedule, take a look at What's On.

Leeds Junior Conservatoire

Leeds Junior Conservatoire (LJC) is a space for musicians aged 8-18 from Yorkshire and the North. We run sessions every Saturday in term time in performance and music production, short courses during the year such as Jazz Camp for Girls, Generation Big Band, and 1-1 lessons. LJC provides a nurturing environment for young people to develop their creativity, connected by their passion for music.

We aim to work with Leeds Music Education Partnership and support the national plan for music education in supporting young people to create music together and progress their musical interests and talents.

Our curriculum allows students to perform in small ensembles/bands and study musicianship options to support their interests and needs. Options include acting, composition, guitar skills, keyboard skills, music production, musical theatre singing, theory, and vocal skills.

Resources

We appreciate that an essential part of supporting students is ensuring that their teachers and advisers have informed and accurate knowledge of higher education and the processes and systems that come alongside it. The resources below have been collated to support professionals working with applicants. Some are specific to us here at Leeds Conservatoire and others are more general schools resources.
