Bio

Josh Shortland is a 21 year-old Southern actor at Leeds Conservatoire based in Leeds. In his third year Josh will be starring as Macduff in Macbeth at the Leeds Playhouse (dir. Gitika Butto) and Semyon Zakharovich Marmeladov in Crime and Punishment at Chapel FM (dir. Deborah Newbold)

A warm-toned Tenor singer, Josh began his career in musical theatre before honing his skills as an Actor at Read College in Reading before going on to join the Conservatoire. Josh is especially skilled in comedic and improvisation shows but his passions also lie in hard hitting stories and gritty roles, such as when he played Bruce in a production of The Normal Heart in Reading.

Going forward, Josh looks forward to the school tours and workshops for Macbeth that'll be taking place across Leeds/Sheffield and shooting on location and in studio for his showreels.
