This summer, join us at Leeds Conservatoire in the centre of the UK, for a British Theatre Summer Intensive.

This immersive experience combines in depth skills training, industry masterclasses and the best of British theatre, with theatre excursions to the vibrant Edinburgh Fringe Festival and London's West End.

Working with storytellers from around the world, develop new skills and reinvigorate your passion for performance under the guidance of UK industry professionals.

This package is for any participant who is commuting to the course from Leeds or surrounding areas.

The schedule below provides an overview of training, theatre and travel activities during the UK Theatre Intensive 2024. Please use this schedule to plan your travel from your home to Leeds, UK.   

Participants are advised to arrive in Leeds no later than Sunday the 18th of August.  

Students are scheduled to return to Leeds from Edinburgh on Saturday the 31st of August. Onward travel should be arranged for Sunday the 1st of September.

 

Entry Requirements

Student must be 18 years of age, on or before the 17th of August 2024.  

This course is an intermediate programme of study, designed to advance acquired skill.  

Participants will require some previous experience of actor training. Below is a non-exhaustive list of previous experience that may apply: 

  • Previous college training in performing arts, drama or voice. 
  • The study of drama, voice or performing arts as a college minor.  
  • Regular participation in vocational/extracurricular theatre training.  
  • Foundational training [e.g. Diploma, 6th Form College] 
  • Current summer break from undergraduate training.  
  • National Youth Theatre (or equivalent).   
  • Regular experience in amateur production.  
  • Participation in preparatory course for Drama School/Conservatoire training.  

All students must have fluent, confident use and knowledge of the English language.

Terms and Conditions

Payment Terms 

  1. All deposits are non-refundable. 
  2. Full payment must be received by 5PM EST on Friday the16th of August.  
  3. No part refunds for missed training days or events will be issued.  

 

Travel in UK 

  1. Any student missing pre-booked travel activity will be liable for the costs of a new ticket for themselves and the ambassador who travels with them. [Students will be supported in arranging alternative travel.]  

 

Cancellation  

  1. Should Leeds Conservatoire cancel the event for any reason, a full refund of all payments will be issued.  
  2. International students are advised to purchase insurance that covers flight delays and cancellations.   
  3. In the event of a cancellation, travel to the UK will not be refunded.  
  4. Students requesting to cancel after booking will be subject to the following fees: 

 

On or before February 29th 2024  

Full Refund, minus deposit amount  

1st March - April 26th 2024  

75% Refund, minus deposit amount  

April 26th - June 28th 2024  

70% Refund, minus deposit amount  

June 29th – August 2nd 2024  

50% Refund, minus deposit amount 

2nd - 19th August 2024  

No refund given. 

Accommodation

Students booking the residential package will be provided with 14 nights’ accommodation in Leeds city centre.  

Accommodation is provided by the following third party: Unite Students Leeds  

Student accommodation includes bedding, kitchen packs and towels.
