Completing the line-up for our fourth showcase at Sound City is DOMI, a high energy, drum 'n' bass synth-pop band.

DOMI is Dominika Hasek, Casper Hatlestad, Benjamin Rekstad, Jostein Braaten, who all study MMus Creative Musician at LCoM, alongside BA Jazz alumna Jemma Freese.

With just a week to go, we spoke to DOMI about how much they are looking forward to their first festival as a band...

How does it feel to be playing at Sound City?

It feels amazing - we are so honoured! It is all thanks to Leeds College of Music, where we all met whilst studying. Also, It's our debut festival as a band, which makes it great way to start our summer.

Give us a brief history of your band...

We have recently released our debut single and music video 'Let Me Follow', which now has over 25,000 views and made it to Number 9 in the Czech music charts. Right now we are working towards releasing our next single and our debut headline show at The Wardrobe in Leeds on 12 June, in collaboration with Sofar Sounds and MAP charity.

What can people expect from your Sound City set?

A lot of songs that are yet to be released, which is really exciting! It will be a nice mix of different songs, that each have their own take on electronic pop music.

Do you think playing Sound City will be different to past gigs and why?

Yes, as it's our first festival gig and our first time playing in Liverpool! Festivals are always about good vibes, so we know it's going to be a good day.

Who are you excited to see when you’re there?

Our Singer (Dominika) is a big fan of Emily Burns so we will all go and watch her.   Dominika definitely won’t miss it. Also, we want to see MABEL and of course support all the LCoM bands!

What are you most excited about for next weekend?

We are just excited to be playing at our very first festival as DOMI. We have been talking about playing festivals ever since we have become a band and now it's finally happening.

How does it feel to see your name on a festival line up?

It feels like a big, positive step in our music career as a band. It's amazing to see our name on the same poster as other artists we love and have been listening to.
