Described as a “talent to watch” (OffBeat Magazine) with a “highly unique style possessing great technical facility” (All Out Guitar), German born guitarist and composer Ulrich Elbracht studied music at the ‘Hochschule fuer Musik Franz Liszt’ in Weimar, Germany. 

After moving to England, Ulrich quickly established himself as an “outstanding local based guitarist”, much in demand for his “intelligent and sensitive playing” (NW Jazzworks). As a freelance musician Ulrich regularly performs with some of the most highly respected musicians in the UK.

Ulrich has recorded two critically acclaimed albums with award winning band ‘The Magic Beans’ (‘The Magic Beans’ and ‘Anything You Can Dream’ ). The latest release was described as “an album that shows not only raw musical talent across the genres and innovation in lyrics and melody”. ‘Anything You Can Dream’ is as fun and upbeat as it is solemn and sultry” (Music Muso reviews).

With Manchester Pop band ‘The Slow Show’ Ulrich has performed at various festivals across Europe incl. ‘Secret Garden Party’ UK, ‘Winterthurer Musifestwochen’ in Switzerland and ‘Haldern Pop’ in Germany. The band also performed live on Virgin Radio for the Edith Bowman show.

Together with acclaimed Bass Player Zoltan Dekany, Ulrich founded UZ2. Their debut album ‘So It Begins’ is an album “full of compositional and improvisational riches” (Jazz in York). As well as having a strong YouTube presence, the duo performed at the Manchester Jazz Festival as well as ‘Bass Europe’ in Prague.
